Waiting for ... (7)

This week every day rain was expected, but what we got was on Tuesday night heavy lightning and a storm wind that caused some damage on the roof: ten tiles broken, two rows lifted.




The piscine was heavily used as on some days it was so hot and humid (36 - 38°) that every guest returned during the afternoon to take a good swim.





The refrigerator for the guests arrived, the table of information brochures and leaflets at the disposal of the guests is increasing steadily.




Nature was beautiful - also through a glass mirror.










And first long B & B - evenings around a large dinner table.

The first guests arrived, loved the place, adored the decoration of the rooms and - last but not least - were happy.




Meanwhile small works were done: finishing the skirting-boards in the guest living room as well as their painting and the enduit decoration of a wall in the 'chambre d'amis'. Many thanks again to Martine.





Also the Siena tables for the loggias arrived.



The view from the garden on Belaye gives us magnificent sights almost every day: a beautiful full moon rising and a double rainbow.

As you can imagine it has been a very busy week. The last deliveries had to arrive, But it took some time (and waiting and annoyance). The delivery of the window curtains was everything but perfect: instead of beige some curtains were black, some had the inverse measures (height was width and vice versa). Many thanks to Martine for helping us out here with some very nice curtains.





And above all: cleaning and cleaning and cleaning all over again so the guests find a house as clean as possible. Now all rooms are ready. See some fresh photos below.

In the garden the zucchini start blossoming and green tomatoes are already on the plants.

First of all many thanks for all the nice messages for our official opening on July 1rst and for the nice flowers (Lut & Jan).



This week was really hot: always about 35°. Therefore I got to get up early (at 5.30!) to clear the other side of the road from all the wood collected in two and a half years. It took me four days. But finally it is done : the view now is cleared but on a uncultivated field.





The fitting of the rooms got along as well: Moroccan carpets were put, some bedside tables bought, the bed linen (all white) arrived and there is a solution found for the wardrobe problem. Also the terrace tables in oak arrived.











In between there was time for a first summer event (let's hope it will not be the last): the opening concert of the 'festival de la chanson à texte' at the château of Floyras. The next concerts are on 23, 24 and 25 of July at Montcuq (see the programme for 2009)
